Wellness Wednesday: Feel Good Summer
Happy Wellness Wednesday in my little corner of the internet!
It’s JULY! I love July as it just so happens to be my birthday month (and Smith’s 🥳)! It also is the half way mark to the New Year, and we’re at the height of summer! It’s time to dial in our intention, be present with our family, and ENJOY the beautiful sunshine!
The choices we make right now are going to set us up in the fall, and I don’t know about you - but I’m always summoning my healthiest, best self.
I’ll tell you where I am right now, I had no idea back when I broke down my approach to fitness only a couple weeks ago, that God would ask me to reroute and dial it back even more. There has been so much talk and excitement about the new low impact fitness program and I knew that’s what I would be working to launch (as it’s completely transformed my mentor’s body and life in such amazing ways). We have so much interest about our healthy gut protocol, the new hormone program launching, and more than ever - women are craving and wanting more low impact movement, and the results have been insane! Who knew we didn’t have to work so hard?
I’ll be honest, in the world of fitness I only know one way: high impact, max calories burned, more intensity, lots of steps - more, more, more! When I went to Summit and talked to the trainer herself, Elise challenged me to approach her new program with an open mind, that nothing would change if I didn’t, that I didn’t need to overtrain and work so hard. I promised her I would honor her program as she intended and stick to low impact movement paired with Lava (her new 6 week program). I have more women than I ever have who have joined me on this journey, and I couldn’t be more excited to see what my body will do, how different it’ll be training myself in a totally new way, and I can’t wait to see all the lives changed because of this program. My group kicked off July 1, but there’s always room for you to join, so make sure you reach out and we’ll get you in our group asap! We focus on nutrition, your mindset, fitness, and community. Within our group, we’re reading Atomic Habits and I thought it was the perfect setup for this post, and July.
Essentially for the rest of summer I’ll be switching things up, challenging myself in a whole new way, and being the list loving girl that I am, I thought I’d kick off July with my own goal, habit checklist. Maybe you want to join me? I got you! 🫶🏻
FEEL GOOD SUMMER GOALS:
Morning Routine:
Bible before phone. You know it’s always better when you spend time with Jesus before all the distractions on your phone.
Water first with collagen, and then energize or matcha. I really want to cut back my coffee drinking!
Work out done before my kids wake up. Enjoy walking and being active with my family!
Chores with my kids, reading, and morning devotionals with them.
Healthy Habits:
Stick to lower impact movement, I’ll be working through the new fitness program called Lava and it’s only 20 minutes! I’ll be adding walking, maybe incline walking, any low impact activity. I don’t know the last time I took 6 weeks off from running, so it’ll be interesting how I’ll feel! You know I’ll let you know!
Step goal of 12,000-15,000.
Water always! Following my usual nutrition plan, but I’m going to make an extra effort to eliminate (reduce) inflammatory foods - like caffeine, alcohol, diary, gluten and sugar. Focusing less on burning all the calories, but really nourishing my body with gut friendly foods. Taking care of my body in a different, more healing way is my goal!
Shakeology as my very first meal of the day, giving my body everything it needs! I love a post workout smoothie!
Dinner and done (find other fun!) is always a goal, and I always feel best when I stick to it! Or maybe one intentional treat (hello date with peanut butter 😂😇).
Personal Development:
I love listening to Growth Day every single day, and all the mindset videos on the BODi app. Life changing! Comment for more info! 🙌🏻
Reading before bed, putting my phone away! One chapter a day. I’m reading Atomic Habits with my accountability group, and I also want to read Slight Edge next!
Let me just add that while I love to create healthy habits, always aware of ways I can summon my best self, I also really love to enjoy life, be in the moment, have that glass of wine with my best friend. A balanced, sensible, and sustainable approach to living life well, taking it all in, and having discipline and self control when you need to. That’s my goal!
In case you want to join me in habit building, or are looking for ways you can really be more intentional, here are a few templates that I’ll be using!
Here’s to a healthy, healing summer! What are some habits you want to build, or ways you can be more intentional? Sometimes we just have to remember our goals, what our WHY is, and make sure our choices and habits are always supporting our overall goal. One habit, one choice at a time. You got this!
Thank you for being here! I hope you have the very best day 4th of July! xx
